Top Gear is Back!

WooHoo! The first episode of the year was good but not incredible. However I am watching the special where they drive 3 convertibles through Iraq. Not exactly the type of car you would want there. Bulletproof would be more preferable.


"I think I had a wee" as Richard Hammond said. I had it from laughing so hard, he had it explaining the 50 Cal round at the Turkey border. (It was really a lighter) If you like cars this is a must see show!

I really must have struck a nerve

I made the "Wendy's" post yesterday when I was home for lunch. By 6 it had 70 hits. Question is why are people searching for Wendy's fries? My guess is it is not for a positive reason. Hey, I still stick behind my original opinion that they are much improved.

I did a quick search on the fries and found that this is the first overhaul of Wendy's fries in 41 years and that they have more sodium and 10 more calories than the previous version. Then the real shocker was the over 420 calories in the large fries. Yikes. I better start working out...

Now after finding out that they have almost 25% of my calorie count for the day in one large serving I will have to find a better menu choice. Darn. The good tasting things always have tons of calories.

PS. Lets face it the Wendys fries are good. However hot McDonalds fries with lots of salt are the BEST!

I want to know how they did it?

Everyone knows that the old Wendy's fries were...Not so good. I really like the new ones, they are more consistent then the old fries and the new seasoning I like. I am not sure if "Sea Salt" is a marketing ploy and it is really table salt but it does not really matter. It is the taste.

What I really want to know is how they made the change. Clearly many others disliked their fries like me. But some how they had to market test some new types of fries and then they had to commit to the new taste. Remember that this is not a simple change, just ask Coke. Remember New Coke! Only if you are older than 25.

So what I want to know is how they market tested. How do you survey these customers? OK obviously I would not want that job, but would love to see the results! Hey Mark you still have any contacts?

My girl comes home last week.

(Not quite what you were thinking)

Vette has been at the doctor for a week getting a new clutch. My mechanic showed me the clutch he took out and it was down to the rivets. Hey, drive it like it is stolen. Jen has been giving me grief on the repair costs on Vette, yet the cost of this clutch is still lower than her car's taxes and insurance!

Anyway, next week is looking like the temperatures will be in the 60's. Sounds like a good week to break in a new clutch!

Made it home

When it was finally getting warm in Vegas we had to leave. I am definitely ready for 8 hours of sleep.

After a short weekend, a Superbowl party then it is back to work and a snow storm.

Day 2 On delay

Our first day of HTG was today. All but Kathy made it through the big snow storm. What a great group. We really stepped it up and the value keeps coming.

At the end of the day we met up at the MGM and saw Dru Carey. It was excellent. We had front row seats and we learned that this was being recorded for TV. It had the crew from who's line is it anyway. Rarely do I laugh so hard that it hurt. This night was an exception. Patty from our group was called up on stage and she did a great job. We were told that we would be on TV in May. So I will let you know.

Ended with a great meal at MGM SHIBUYA once again eating way too much. I believe this had 4 courses. No way I could have eaten another bite.

Once again I believe it was 2:15 before I got back to the room. Friday will be an early morning.

Vegas Day1 (Still on delay)

Made it into Vegas with almost no flight problems. This left some time to explore today. I was hoping for warmer weather, however the fountains in Vegas had Ice forming in them. Attended the Titanic display at the Luxor and went to Criss Angel “Believe” show then had a late dinner and met up with some of the HTG gang. The night finally ended around 2:15 (4:15 CST) I out lasted Kris the rock star that came with me. This morning is earlier than I really wanted.
