Lost one of my top five vendor reps. She spent 6 months on the job and after a 4 month interview process she was let go. (Was not a performance issue) I find it strange that a company (A VERY large company) did not have enough foresight to look forward 6 months. After the long interview process, the significant investment in training and the loss of VAR confidence was this worth all of this?
I realize that you have to cut cost. Is sales really the place to start?
These are just daily thoughts I have on the industry and processes. As a bonus you get some personal stories experience and others that may not be related to anything!

Almost getting it right does not cut it.
I had a sales man call on me today. He had visited our web site, knew what we did and was familiar with our business. However he was calling to set an appointment yet did not know how to get to our town (Expedia?), did not have his calendar available (had to call back) and was not prepared to talk about our account. So why call?
