You must measure to get better!

In sales you measure activities, close ratio's, customer satisfaction and more. You need to know where you are at and what you need to work on along with those things you do well. It is the dashboard of your skills.

If you pay attention to this blog you know I like Golf. Above is my dashboard of golf. OK, not that impressive but does give me feedback of areas that need improvement and it does show statistically what improvement that I am making. Getting better all the time.

I found someone who followed up!

So today I found someone who was impressive in their followup. I registered for an event (Virtual Event)Not only did I get a followup email within minutes, then the phone rang withing a minute or so confirming me and asking if I had any questions. Sure, it probably was a call center buy hey, they had a plan!

I look forward to attending my virtual event

Does anyone every follow-up?

Probably at any one time I have over 50 companies that are trying to capture business from the company. They start contact via;

Voice Mail
Email
Post Cards
Stop in Visits
Referals
Or more

Yet many times these companies never (Almost Ever) follow up. Even when I engage them and respond to some type of marketing they sometimes send the information and that is it. A simple phone call (Which I would expect and take), a follow up email so see if I am still interested, anything!

So essentialy these companies spend tens of thousands of dollars to get a lead, then no follow-up. It is a shame. (PS those same companies are probably saying that marketing does not work)

50 MPH Winds

Ha, people complain about storm winds exceeding 50 Mph. Here in Hays (Today) we are having 50 Mph. No storms, just a change in weather, above 80 degrees today, highs tomorrow are in the 50's.

Heck, we golf if the winds are below 35 Mph and just know how to deal.

To be honest, the wind is miserable. When the sand feels like you are being shot by a bunch of BBs and your house sounds like a jet inside it is not fun. No reason for a Whole House fan, just open a window on the North and one on the South and 5 min later all your furniture is located on the opposite side of the house the wind is blowing from.
