Happy Anniversary Jenifer!

11 years married today. Amazing how time goes by.

You ask what we got for our anniversary? Well we agreed that our trip to Florida in a week will be our gift to each other. However my gift was my in-laws moving out today! More on that tomorrow!

I did have a chance to watch some of the wedding video. It is amazing how people change.

Some lose weight
Some gain

Some look much older
Some look the same

Some are no longer with us
Some are grown up

Some are married
Some are divorced
Some have done both since our marriage

I do have to admit, I look similar. A bit more weight, but not too much.

Carsen watched some of the video with me and wanted to know where he was at.
Anyway, it has been a great 11 years and look forward to the next 11.

WWGD but where does it end?

If you have read this blog, you know I am a fan of What Would Google Do. (WWGD) However since I bought this book from Amazon, they let me know when there are related books to this. I keep getting notifications on new books (Lots)

So I did a quick search of the number of books written about (Or involving) Google on Amazon. OVER 2900!

OK we get it, they are successful. They are different. However do 2900 books really have that unique view into Google? I doubt it.

Passwords can be annoying. Do they have to be?

Really irritating. I had to go through a certification process to sell some product today. To be honest, the product (To be nameless for now) is not real high end or special. However to create an account this is what I encountered

We are sorry, but we are unable to complete your request.
The following problems occurred and need to be repaired for your request to be completed.
• Password must be at least 8 characters, at least 1 number and at least 1 special character. Special characaters can include ! # $ % or @
My bank account password, or other accounts that are tied to $’s do not require this. However they feel like they must have my DNA to log in. Really?
If they want to know the user experience it is poor…

Measuring everything

Is extremely important in business. However it seems like recently I have seen many businesses that have not measured sales or marketing. Both can be measured and should be, otherwise how do you know where to effectively invest your dollars?

In marketing you can measure
Response
Cost per return
Activity
Leads coming in
Customer awareness
Market trends

In sales you can measure
Appointments
Quotes
Wins
Losses
Calls

A very limited list, however the key is measuring. This is how you can tell that you are getting better and working towards your goals!
