Sounds cool, just really not functional

I have been thinking about some of the tech stuff I deal with that sounds great at first, then when you get it, you really realize that it doesn't work in the real world.

First is the touch screen. You see people on TV now playing with pictures by touching the screen, resizing them, moving them and such. Sounds cool. However what is the real world use of this. OK sure if you have a 50" version in a conference room. That would be good. Otherwise, I can use the mouse more effectively and can do more!

Second the tablet PC. Sure, you can capture signatures. Other than that? I type faster than I write, how often do I need to get signatures when electronic signatures in Email work just as well, I can draw with a mouse. And if I get a regular laptop, I get a real processor. Plus the tablets cost more. Many can use the tablets as they were intended, few do.

This one may be a stretch. But windshield washers on headlights on your car. Really? If you own a car that is that expensive, don't you keep it at least clean enough to use the headlights without needing to clean them that often?

I will be updating this list as I think of more. Please feel free to add your own ideas!
