Traveling in Mo.

Traveled down to Springfield Mo, just a short 7 hour drive. Anyway we were in need of gas and stopped in the middle of no where Mo. It was a large truck stop like place and I could not get the Debit card to take at the pump. Then I tried the Credit card. No luck. Finially I went to the attendant and they said they were having the same problem. The statement was "It is the weather" It was cloudy, light rain at best? Great customer service!

Day 3 First day of HTG3 meeting in Dallas

Once again, Facilitation is one of the most difficult things I do. This day started out particularly challenging. First of all the morning HTG all presentation ran over by 10 min or so. Then our room is located on the 18th floor. With only a few elevators, it took the members about 10 min to get up to the room. (A few took the stairs, yes 18 floors, I doubt that Ricky will do that again) So all in all we started 20 min late, then I did not leave enough time in the agenda to meet the new member Mark Joseph from Advanticom a great addition to the group from east coast.

We did manage to get through most of the agenda for the first day. Day 2 should be interesting.

Day 2 on delay

Tried to sleep in an additional hour today. Unfortunately the Elevator noise in my room solved that starting at 5 AM. Had a solid day of training from marketing to cloud and more. Jonathan (From Marco)and I gave a solid presentation on Sales Management. Lots of great feedback and more. That evening there was an awards presentation. It is amazing how HTG3 really is strung through out the IT industry. Tomorrow starts the first day of our PEER Meeting. Should be fun.

Day 1 (On delay)

A great start to HTG in Dallas. Still raining. We had some facilitator training that was good. I always get new ideas just sitting in the room with the other facilitators. The one clear lesson is when members of your group have a problem with the group or other members do not take that feedback as an individual. Rather the person bringing you the information must take it to the group. Otherwise you are the middle person and most likely the bad person.

Speed of change

It is the little things that you forget!

Today at the hardware store I was in line behind someone who wrote a check. It took forever. I was then thinking how long it had been since I had seen someone write a check in front of me.

Only 10 years ago this would not have been that big of a deal.

I was thinking how long it has been since I have written a check. I do not think I have done it this year!

On delay (I am back now) Traveling to Dallas

For Q2 HTG meeting. I choose to drive due to the fact that flying took almost the same amount of time. By the time I went to the airport, got connecting flights and then rented a car it was just as easy to fly.

However If I would have flown, the bad weather would have been avoided. It rained from the KS border to Dallas and the rest of the night.

It is nice to have a suite, however there are more windows and the storm packed quite a lot of thunder. We will see how it goes.

I have not spoke about the laser lately

Laser beam focus on what you can change. Don't focus on what you cannot. Sure, try and work on those that can make changes to things thaoutou have problems with.

Remember that basic sales training of narrowing the conversation and do that with your tasks. Put on the Bose noise canceling life headphones and cancel the noise that is the things you cannot change. Bring laser beam focus to your tasks and see how much more effective you become. Execute.
