A new blog link

It is on the side also.

I really feel that we must support Gerard as much as possible, lets face it if you had to put up with Tammy 7 days a week you would need LOTS of support.

(Notes; Tammy works with me and Gerard is her husband (A great guy, not sure how he got tangled in the web))

I am loving Windows 7

So I am in process of upgrading some systems. First I have installed 7 on an Ideapad. Then on a MediaCenter. First of all Installing Ultimate. Total Install around 10 GIG. I am not exactly sure what Vista was however it seemed around 22gig. That is quite a difference. How about some of the performance differences.

1. From sleep it almost is on before the screen is.
2. It is FAST. Running on a 1.6 Atom with a gig of ram and it is FAST
3. I am running MediaCenter on a dual core 2.66 and 1.5 gig of ram. WAY faster. The transition between things is almost immediate. NOW sure I was running it on a older P4 3.0 GHZ single core with 4 GB ram. So the hardware is faster (HD's were much slower on the old box also) Great!
4. Drivers install and work great on the two units I tried. OK I did have an issue with a ThinkStation that had a quad core. It would not finish the install without locking up. Tried 3 times. The unit came with Vista 64 bit. Not sure what the deal is. I will check with Lenovo and try again.
5. Simple. No major changes that I cannot understand simply.
6. I have yet to have a hardware compatibility issue (Displays, printers or other) WHOO HOO!

*As a sub note I bought a new HD tuner for the MediaCenter. It already had the driver for 7 on the disk! Way to go Hauppage (SP)
